…the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of South Carolina is a state non-profit organization affiliated with the national GFWC (General Federation of Woman’s Clubs).  The NMB Woman’s Club is one of 56 clubs in South Carolina that make up the GFWC-SC. The clubs benefit from belonging to a network of socially conscious, active women who focus on meeting the specific needs of their communities through volunteer service projects.

Children’s Recovery Center
…provides a safe place where children who are victims of abuse can receive coordinated child abuse support. Each child is assigned a child advocate who will ensure they are kept safe and that their rights are protected. The center empowers children and their caretakers with the tools to recognize the signs of abuse and prevent it. The center wants the children who go there to grow from child abuse victims to strong healthy survivors.  

Family Justice Center of Georgetown & Horry Counties
…serves victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, child abuse, and human trafficking.

Friendship Medical
…serves as the primary medical care home for Horry County adults without access to affordable healthcare.

Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina
…serves girls and adults in 21 counties in South Carolina and is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls. Please remember to buy those Girl Scout cookies!

Habitat for Humanity Women Build
…challenges women to devote at least one day to the effort to eliminate poverty housing. Women make a difference in their communities by building homes and raising awareness of local housing needs.

Hope’s Kitchen
…supports families in need in North Myrtle Beach with food and supplies.

Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach
…locates permanent homes for abandoned animals; provides veterinary care; offers low-cost spay and neuter programs for dogs and cats; and teaches the education of pet responsibility. Our club donates supplies and awards funding each year to this organization.

North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum
…is the preserver and collector of all that is important to our history, our culture, and our way of life in North Myrtle Beach and surrounding area. Be sure to check out our exhibit on your next visit.

North Myrtle Beach Chamber
…supports non-profit organizations and local businesses and offers information about North Myrtle Beach as a vacation destination and a place to live and work. The chamber also promotes our annual Christmas Tour of Homes held the first Saturday in December each year and it sells tickets for our “Purses with Purpose” Event held in April each year. The NMBWC is proud to be a member of the NMB Chamber and appreciates the work of the chamber in our community.

North Myrtle Beach Times
…is our local community newspaper which does an excellent job of supporting our club by publishing articles about our activities and achievements. Support our local newspaper by subscribing to it and learning more about your community. We love the Times and you will, too!

North Strand Helping Hand
…is a United Way of Horry County agency that serves as an emergency aid organization, which responds to the needs of the less fortunate and homeless in our community. The NMBWC donates plastic bags, gifts for seniors at Christmas, and provides funding each year to this organization.

North Strand Housing Shelter
…helps the homeless and needy in North Myrtle Beach by not only providing food and shelter, but spiritual and emotional support.

Operation Smile
…provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe. The GFWC-SC Eastern District has adopted this very special cause as its 2014 project. The NMBWC educates its members on this international charity and donates to it.

Sea Haven, Inc.
…intervenes to help youth in Horry County who may be on their own and struggling to cope with the day to day stresses of living. Several members are involved in Sea Haven fundraisers and the club supports the organization with funding.

…is an organization that serves as a nationwide platform for organizations, businesses, and non-profits to bolster America’s troops and their families. Discover ways you can help support those who endanger their lives everyday to preserve our liberties and our livelihoods.

Teen Angel
…is a local organization that assists homeless and less fortunate North Myrtle Beach High School students by providing the little “luxuries” of teenage life, including schoolbooks, yearbooks, prom attire, personal care products, transportation to dentists and doctors, and so much more.  These are students too old for foster care, yet too young to do it all on their own.  They have made the tough decision to stay in school, despite the challenges, in hopes of a better future! The NMB Woman’s Club supports these youth.

Women in Philanthropy and Leadership (WIPL)
…explores opportunities for women to increase their voice in conversations of leadership in our university, community, state, and region. Their two day leadership conference is held in March every year and offers a compelling group of speakers and educational forums for women.
