The North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club is a proud member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs
Honoring the GFWC motto of “Unity in Diversity,” our club brings together unique individuals dedicated to community improvement. Our mission is to enhance the lives of others through community projects, volunteer service and fundraising.
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is headquartered in Washington D.C. and is also one of the world’s largest non-partisan and non-denominational women’s volunteer service organizations. The organization was founded in 1890 and chartered by the 56th United States Congress in 1901. In 2015, GFWC celebrated its 125th anniversary. There are currently more than 60,000 members in affiliated clubs in every state, the District of Columbia, and more than a dozen countries.
Credited with starting over 75% of the public libraries in America, the organization has been actively working in South Carolina since 1898. GFWC members are true volunteers in action working locally to create global change. GFWC and its members annually raise an average of $40 million on behalf of more than 100,000 projects and volunteer nearly eight million hours of service.
